Aidan Moffat Live At The Rough Trade Books Night 20 January 2012 in Books
On Wednesday 8th February the former Arab Strap frontman Aidan Moffat is set for a distinctive solo show at Klüb Gütenberg, the monthly night co-hosted by Rough Trade Books and the Quietus website. The evening will feature songs, stories and trademark Scottish salaciousness.
Tickets are £10 on the night and £8 in advance from: HERE
The Old Queen’s Head
44 Essex Road, London N1 8LN
7.30pm to 11pm
Aidan has been a friend of The Quietus since the website was founded in 2008. In the role of Uncle Agony Aidan he dished out solutions for the sexual and emotional troubles of the Quietus audience. But perhaps his most striking Quietus contribution was his close lyrical analysis of Adele’s Someone Like You, which, it’s fair to say, upset some of her more sensitive fans. Aidan is now set to join us direct from Glasgow for a one-off solo performance of tunes and tales. In keeping with Klüb Gütenberg’s usual blend of music and talk, this night will feature Aidan in raconteur mode. Maybe a bit like Scottish football legend Chic Charnley out on the talk-and-Tennants circuit – telling the ancient fable of how he fended off attack by samurai-sword aggressor...

The chorus part was written by Tom (Bevitori, Alela’s husband) years ago, and finally found a home in the verses I wrote – a mysterious collaboration, especially given the circumstances.”
Having played a storming gig at London’s Village Underground last night, Alela will now rejoin her friends Fleet Foxes (with whom she toured the US in July) at the following European dates:
11/5 Bergen, NOR ...
